Rock isn’t dead it’s like hip hop

You have to look for the good stuff

And for anyone to ignore all the progressive, indie and alternative bands is like going to a buffet and only eating carrots, celery and broccoli …
i still listen to a little king gizzard but rock is dead, breh

I was just listening to rock yesterday

A band called Petey … and throughly enjoying myself … just say you don’t keep up with it …

nothing is dead / many things aren’t popular with the kids …

New Classical and New Jazz records come out every day …

It's actually fukking wild how new rock seems dead. The only kids I know who listen to rock listen to GnR, Metallica, Zeppelin. Like really old shyt. I still blast 80's/90's/00's rock, punk, numetal.

On the real, rock peaked in the early 2000s with Emo rock. The writing was on the wall when the hip hop/rock crossover was complete with Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and Papa Roach. Since then, it's been hard to find legit rock that doesn't sound like a demon getting skinned to death :francis: . It sucks because I could go for some headbanging shyt on some Beavis and Butthead steez:wow:

While new music is easily accessible nowadays, it's overwhelming AF to look for some new music because everything is dictated to listening to the trashiest of trash ass music. Spotify tries its hardest, but the algorithm still manages to pull some wack, obscure shyt out of the hat.

I may have to take a night to find some good piff and just get lost in the music. In times like this, I wish Tower Records was still around. There's something about just browsing and going into an album blindly, just outweighs the streaming era.

I don’t know your taste but Radiohead and Gorillaz have made the best rock music I ever heard after the year 2000. I hated Nu Metal except for maybe Korn. Metal isn’t my thing really either. I like love rock though - like the Killers, the Hives, the Vines, early Coldplay before they watered down, the Strokes, Weezer, Green Day, MGMT, The Foo Fighters, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, The White Stripes etc etc all 2000’s music … I really think it’s just a lack of knowledge … you all sound like white boys who say only Eminem has good rap songs and now rap / hip hop is dead … as if we haven’t been listening to it all decade …

You feel like rock recording sessions are more egotistical than rap recording? :jbhmm:
No your dealing with the egos of other bandmates. So if ones having an off day, it could fukk the whole band. I had a recording session booked, and my drummer at the time downed a bunch of percs the night before, wasted our session. Even gigging, you have to deal with their attitudes and drug habits.

New rock had no edge past a certain point. Pop and punk being in the same sentence was also blasphemy. And as a casual listener musically the arrangements became the same garbage. shyt killed itself by being a parody of itself in the last decade of relevance. The music was cookie cutter trash
IMO this is the best rock song in the last decade, and nobody mentions it. I feel like it'll be an anthem when AI takes over

The algorithm is fukked, rock = alternative according to Apple & Spotify:mjcry:

One of the many reasons why punk & hardcore is better than rock these days. It addresses social issues, it’s a lifestyle and it’s hard for it to be commercialized.
