... if Black people needed a militia for protection, it's more out of a need to protect ourselves from other Blacks and Police in certain instances than white extremists.
i understand what you're saying, but my perspective is a little different. i don't think we need an organized group/militia to necessarily protect us from our own. i do think having a group like this in our community would be good but more from the perspective of providing guidance, constructive criticism and even discipline in the minority communities that need it.
Whites like the guy in this article are largely marginalized, even by whites that don't want to be around Black folks.
yes and no. many whites who aren't bout that life (wearing their racism on their sleeve, but holding it in their hearts) coddle and/or turn a blind eye to guys like this. they don't want to be around him, but he's the tip of the sword for them. they'll let him do the dirty work and reap the benefits, such as keeping racism alive, intimidating minorities, and being example of a person willing to die or kill for what they believe no matter how insane. most whites that sympathize with his beliefs won't go as far as he has with it, but i believe deep down inside a lot of prejudice whites are glad there are guys like this out there. not to mention the extremist tea party types that get motivated by people with strong beliefs like this wacko or rationalize his actions through some bizarro reverse racism scenario.
....to be frank and even cynical to some degree, I'm more concerned about Lil Day-Day than the fool in this article.
if you spend most of your time in the hood or around the hood, i feel where you're coming from. but that's a very small section of our society. everywhere else you do need to be concerned with idiots like this guy and the people that sympathize with him. racists and bigots, especially those behind the scenes or in disguise, are more dangerous to the black community than any goon or gang can be.
