Maybe it's the 2 maddening losses from both my teams this past week eroding my sanity but I'm actually starting to contemplate the idea of trading for John Wall. I honestly doubt Ms. Benson would ever sign off on such a high, long term luxury tax bill but if I'm Dell and she gives me the OK to do whatever it takes to keep AD here beyond this season I'd call Ernie and offer to be the one sucker to take John Wall's albatross deal off his hands if he gives me Kelly Oubre Jr. along with him.

Send back Solomon Hill, Julius Randle (we won't be able to afford him with how he's been playing and all the stats and metrics say AD+Niko is a better fit on both ends despite how good he's been for us) and at the very most just our one protected 2019 first rounder and roll the dice and pray it works out like it has been so far with Detroit after their Blake Griffin gamble. Solves our short term issue of needing a ball handler to keep Jrue off-ball, our long term issue of needing anything resembling an NBA talent at the wing (Oubre is a flawed player but still 1000x better than goddam HilI and has the potential to be good for us as long as Dell tells him we'll pay him right if he quits the selfish contract year hero ball shyt that he's been doing in Washington this year), and gives us a perennial all-star player that has that Kentucky connection with AD to convince him to stay. Wall-Jrue-Oubre-Niko-AD when healthy and playing to their full potential is as good as any starting 5 in the West besides the Warriors, we keep Etwaun and Payton so that we have some semblance of a bench... and if shyt goes south and AD declines his supermax extension and indicates he's gonna bolt, a Wall/Jrue backcourt+ whatever we get for AD will keep us competitive and give NOLA a watchable NBA product until their big contracts wind down and we can retool or just start a full-scale rebuild the right way.

That's how I've rationalized this nonsense in my head, I'm not going mad thinking we're probably the only team in the NBA where this kinda gamble actually makes some sense right...right?? :PelsMJcry:

I don't know about John Wall (I think he would be phoning it down here too) but they gotta make some kind of move.
