When this is all over will people start making a scramble for that suburb or rural life?

Doubtful, jobs are moving back to innercities for poor folks sprawl is a problem the cost of living and commuting so far is unrealistic

WFH/Telecommuting is showing many people that they don't have to be in the city to do their job effectively.

American society culture in general isn't pro WFH, maybe this changes the mindset I'm extremely doubtful of that though.

I was born in NYC and have lived in major cities most of my life.

But I feel like I’d go live in the desert or something after this :russ:

It's not going to be a mass exodus. There are a lot of people who just like life in the city. But imagine that a lot of people who are married, and or have kids, are seeing the need for more space. Even for someone single, you can deal with that tiny ass apartment when all you're really doing is resting your head there. I did a shoot in this little studio apartment shortly before the quarantine. A cute place, but it's one of those places that has a shared bathroom out in the hallway. Her place doesn't even have a TV. She said that she's always out doing something. That shyt would drive me crazy, and I'm sure that some of those people are reevaluating things right now.

Covid19 might be the gentrification killer

True but it would also kill investment and development in those areas. If you’re fine with that then cool.

I don’t know the answer myself but I do know these cities ain’t building these pretty parks and restaurant districts in urban areas out of the kindness of their heart. They want the money that comes along with it.

I’d be fine if it at least slows gentrification. Too many greedy folks just throwing up luxury high rises round here.

It won't kill if off but it'll definitely slow some of this shyt down. I know some people are rethinking about moving back into urban areas right now. Gotta be a shock to the system when you leave your bigger crib way out in the sticks and pay top dollar to move into a crowded city center for the bars, restaurants, museums, clubs, sports, theater, etc.. and all that shyt is suddenly shut down. Some will stick it out til things hopefully goes back to normal but I know there's a nice percentage right now who are :unimpressed::jbhmm:

:yeshrug:Always was my plan, but I'm not 30 yet and I don't have any kids. If this means that all these cacs go back to where they came from, I'll have no reason to leave until then.
