My my dads dads side of the family has one every other year

And my dads moms family has one every other year

Got one coming up in July.

My dad taught us the value of "knowing your people" We don't miss one any year if all possible.

Yearly depending on which side of the family we're talking about. I'm in a t-shirts at theme parks reunion type of family.

What activities does your family participate in?

It's the same thing every year.

Friday Night- Banquet. ie Food and stuff at some type of hall. Just every one eating and talking. My family is very religious so they'll get up and sing church songs and stuff. People show case their kids talents and such.

Saturday-Picnic at the park in whatever city it's in. Just BBQ and little games for the kids. Nothing too special.

Sunday- They go to church together whatever


Pretty basic every year but I love it now that all us kids my age are grown so we go out clubbing and shyt every night.

Also both sides of my families are HUGE.

My Grandma and Grandpa are both 1 of 10 kids. They all had kids and their kids had kids.

Crazy thing is I know them all personally and they live ~1000 mile away

For food, we had the good stuff mac & cheese (homemade of course), bbq, potato salad,cakes, ice cream etc etc it was a lot of stuff like two tables full of food. lol someone even brought taco bell lmao

We had a menu that we sent to everyone that was going to be cooking.

For games we had volleyball, three legged race, swimming contests, talent show, obstacle course, picture swap (made a huge pile of pictures and everyone grabbed 1-3), "who do you remember" with the older family members (70+). There was a lot of stuff going on lol.

Ages ago. Like, 2000 or so. I hated it. Family has rampant mental illness and obesity, a lot of folks have extensive rap sheets, 1/5 of those that show up are white or mixed race which isnt an issue until the rest of the family start making rampant corny ass jokes, and general low-brow idle chatter.

I basically have an extended family of under-achievers, murderers(many within the family, one a ritual, one who had a treasure trove of children get the Hansel and Gretel treatment), folks dying of cancer or diabetes, hiv-aids, alcoholism, etc. You name it, someone has indulged. I feel like I gotta pull some Herculean effort to be the Lebron of the family so down the line, someone managed to not be a nutcase. As far as I am concerned, my family ends at the immediate, my closest cousins , my half sisters, grandmother, and my aunt and uncle. Everyone else makes my level of crazy seem normal.
