That's the thing, Meek gave us all this info that did tarnish Drake and his chance at being considered a great MC but at the same time Meek somehow still managed to get bodied and lose the battle.

Meek Lost.

Lost the battle but won the war.

That old cliche became one for a reason.

Do you agree that Drake would be considered an all time great if he had gotten away with it?

Nikka no it's not corny shyt son
You wanna disregard 35 years of Hip Hop culture, turn a blind eye to that, then say some guy (who did what EVERY other hip hop artist would
Have done in his situation) ruined collabs instead of keeping up with industry facade? And somehow he's in the wrong.

You sound like a hoe breh.

He divided Hip Hop, by doing something to preserve hip hop?

We could say that a lot of people didn't stick
Up for him, which is true. But we can also say a lot of people didn't condemn him either. Besides people who are creatively close to Drake

There was no winner. Or any "division". Just rap shyt.

Sound like a hoe

Undoubtedly. What would have disqualified him if not for the ghostwriting shyt? Nothing.

It's not like he's ever made terrible albums either. All his albums pre-views are all high7-low8 type of albums.

Also, I don't think the views we got would have been the original one if that didn't happen. I think we would have gotten a more IYRTITL type of a vibe/sound. More rap.

At the end if the day it doesn't really matter. They're both doing fairly well

All Meek did was tweet some shyt. His music did nothing, its not even a hip hop accomplishment. He just leaked some gossip.

Drake wouldn't swap his legacy with Meek Mill.

Drake legacy will be unique. Drake was never liked by purists by the way. Mount Rushmore my ass :pachaha:
He's a legend just not a hip hop one. He'll have his seat at a special table.

Not
With Nas or Hov or PAC big etc, but still a pretty exclusive class

The same way Kanye is a legendary Hip Hop artist Drake will be for this generation.
Drake doesn't need to be with Nas etc. This nicca has put out RnB albums pretty much. His lane is his own.

Meek destroyed a generation of collaborations and good music. He divided the game in many ways what he did hurt hip-hop more than it helped...
I feel like he spoke on some unspoken shyt that's BEEN ongoing (ghostwriting).

Everybody knew this was happening but it was an unspoken rule not to really speak on it. Now 100% of your favorite rappers bars has to be questioned.

He kinda ruined a fun thing imo. I find myself wondering was certain verses even written by the rapper who spit it. Or at least certain lines. Twista, one of my all time favorite lyricists even came out and said he used ghostwriters:wow:

Shyt was like ruining xmas:mjcry:

Meek not preserving shyt he doesn't care about any of that :pachaha:

I don't care about nikkas beefing I enjoy battles and disses as much as the next man. I personally would have preferred them nikkas not have though because to me hip-hop was in a better place when these guys was all collaborating and we was getting great music out of it. I'm not talking about just Drake and Meek collabs either there's a lot of people affiliated in those camps who probably won't work together.

Nah he's not Ye either. Ye was a legendary producer before he even dropped an album. His hip hop stripes have been set and earned for a little minute now. He has credits on legendary albums well before college dropout.

Ye's rap career was like dessert for a lot of music heads. Already was a legend.

I think he's something else. Maybe like the MJ of our time unless Abel laps him.

Or maybe just his own type of legend. But a legend all the same.

It's funny because even people I know as Drake stans say "Well, I can't put him as a top MC because...."

So Drake definitely won the battle but Meek, I wouldn't say won the war, but didn't LOSE the War.

There's a reason Drake still was going at him a year later

I think he showed in that taxstone that he cares about Hip Hop.

But you're a Stan so cook. I wouldn't expect you to be objective.

Been going on since the first mass marketed hip-hop single Rapper's Delight...

Nikkas in the industry know what it is, legends know what it is...

That's why old heads like KRS ain't even mad in the interviews.

Drake was not cracking that class even if he wrote every single word. To me those guys are set in stone for a long time.
