It won't. At least not for a very long time.

We simply don't have the technology / knowledge of how to create an immunity-type vaccine against an airborne, commonly mutating respiratory virus.

There's more money in the it protects you 70% but if you get three then 95% type of vaccines.

Vaccines do not, and have not, ever granted complete immunity. Nor have they ever 100% kept a disease from being contagious.

I've always said it should be your own personal choice to take/not take the covid-19 vaccine but a lot of you cats have ridiculously unrealistic expectations for what a vaccine is supposed to do.

The media and the CDC hasn't helped this, either.

Because the virus changes it’s game plan after going back and watching film we can’t keep up. It’s also not productive of Moderna or Pfizer to come up with a “cure” as they wouldn’t be able to sell countries vaccines anymore. It is what it is. Get the shots and protect yourself as best you can.

50%-99%. Depending on which you receive:

Polio vaccine - Wikipedia

When the IPV (injection) is used, 90% or more of individuals develop protective antibodies to all three serotypes of polio virus after two doses of inactivated polio vaccine (IPV), and at least 99% are immune to polio virus following three doses. The duration of immunity induced by IPV is not known with certainty, although a complete series is thought to provide protection for many years.[15] IPV replaced the oral vaccine in many developed countries in the 1990s mainly due to the (small) risk of vaccine-derived polio in the oral vaccine.

Oral polio vaccines were easier to administer than IPV, as it eliminated the need for sterile syringes and therefore was more suitable for mass vaccination campaigns. OPV also provided longer-lasting immunity than the Salk vaccine, as it provides both humoral immunity and cell-mediated immunity.[18]

One dose of OPV produces immunity to all three poliovirus serotypes in roughly 50% of recipients.[19] Three doses of live-attenuated OPV produce protective antibodies to all three poliovirus types in more than 95% of recipients.

Also keep in mind the first polio vaccine was released in 1955. The oral version of developed in 1961. It took that long, and it's still not 100% effective.
