This isn't a thread calling for him to be fired but I'm curious when he'll start to be on the hot seat. He's a great coach but this upcoming 2026-2027 season will be his 10th year with the 49ers and they still haven't won a championship. If I'm not mistaken he's the longest tenured coach in the league without a ring. When will his job security start to be questioned?

How do you fire him after this season? They lost all their best players due to injury including their qb for half the season and still went 12-5 and beat the defending sb champs in a road playoff game. And they play in the toughest division in football

It will probably happen after their next losing season but not sure how you make this thread after this one

In my original post I never said he should get fired. I think he's a great coach but he's about to hit 10 seasons as a coach and hasn't won a superbowl. We all know the NFL is jokingly known as not for long. I'm simply asking at what point will his seat start to get hot if this current trajectory continues.

I think he's got 2 more seasons before he's on the hot seat.

hes got like two more seasons especially on the heel of the season where at one point he was one regular season win away from getting COTY

his main issues is not winning it all while coming up very close, and being very rigid system-wise while having all this power, and like beli he cant draft well

right now owner is too busy with other investments and if he is to replace kyle you need to get a real gm and all other personnel.

now in two years, brocks contract will fully kick in, and a lot of core vets will be very old (Trent, Kittle, CMC, Warner, and Bosa has had multiple ACLs in his career) and if he cant find some other stars it will be a real hot seat. because I think theres only so much you can do with not being able to replenish talent and having bad drafts.

Why isn't Lynch a real GM?

Kyle's reached that Andy Reid in Philadelphia status in his career where he's done everything there is to do except win it all, so every season without a ring becomes a referendum right or wrong.

2025 was a very unique set of circumstances where they exceeded expectations by default, first because of all the roster turnover and dead money in the offseason, then because of the injuries that piled up. It's the only reason he's not taking any real heat for getting embarrassed in Seattle, that's a luxury his resume will likely never allow again.
