Deron was great in Brooklyn when his ankles held up from the shots. Without then he wasn't average. But when healthy he was still elite
Deron ran a motion offense at Illinois and played off the ball a lot sharing the backcourt with dee brown. Jerry Sloan did what worked like a real coach. Deron went to the nets and had to run the offense full time and be an iso player and that wasn't him, and his body turned on him because he wasn't in shape.

I went to Illinois and followed his whole career.
I didn't make any excuses at all - he did get injured a lot and I did say he got lazy - hence the fall off.
He could've been one of the greats but yes dude fell off - Prime DWill was a beast, though and I hope he gets a ring this year.
He had spurts. And that's bad when at 27/28 resorting to having spurts. He has spurts now in Cleveland but instead of games he has a really great quarter.

Deron could pass and shoot like Chris. But what made him seem better was his ability to use his size and strength against other point guards.
20-8 and the ability to close games. He was still elite when healthy up to 2014. His body just broke down, and he never had been a gym rat to stay in the best shape.
