I was hoping someone would splice together both of their versions of The Season (J Dilla beat - Gobstopper)

Once he transitions from Def Jam to Mass Appeal, I think there's a good chance you'll see him do a lot of underground/old school collabos like how the season turned out.

That said, part of the reason AZ and Nas don't always meet up in the studio is that they are both hard to find and both got probably got label situations that might be causing restrictions.

AZ is far and above more notouriously aloof from what I've heard. At least back in the day. There's been stories from the labels he was on of A&R's finding it impossible to get a hold of.

Oh I see, maybe there's been a change there. Cause I found him pretty easy to reach when needed to. And for someone like Nas it should be pretty easy. Nas seems like the type of dude that gets busy though and in his own world sometimes, but I guess that's starting to change now a bit too, as see him around more.

I hope you're right, I hope like Def Jam to Mass Appeal gives him much more freedom and he does some legendary shyt with it. Nas could do so much, he's respected worldwide in Hip Hop on a big level. He could do a lot.

I think so. I think the Dilla track is a sign of things. For Nas I think most of his career after Illmatic we've always talked about the identity crisis and I think hes always found it difficult where he sees himself postioned in Hip Hop as either mainstream or "underground" and I think thats why he always changed managers after Stoute and a lot of his albums may have felt a bit uneven cause you can literally feel the over thinking he did (which btw makes it all the more impressive he still made good albums and still has had the legendary career he has had but is always so why some of his critics are quick to sign him off without having perspective on the materia. I think it proves nothing is a failure if you keep working at it and are still talented enough, people will listen).
I think getting with Saleh and Emagen just around the divorce time has started to put him in a proper focused perspective and why I think No ID was a huuuuge boost for him. They know at this age he doestn have to worry about making a radio single that will feel akward as hell, he has a lane after Life is Good. What comes with that be it reconnecting with old guys or cats who on the same artistic wave as him will come around now

I wonder how Nas would feel about Big Pun's son. Nas is such a huge talent and such an icon there is so much he can do. He can make show his grandchildren's grandchildren are good. And we actually get a Hip Hop dude and a true ARTIST running something. Yeah, it would be dream worthy hearing Nas on all the dope shyt. I did hear Premo say Nas told him he's free after the Def Jam shyt so was going to hook up. I agree with the lane shyt, he doesn't have to compromise now, Nas has a fanbase and can pretty much do what he wants.
