The question was what was his racial blindspot. he then used a girl talking about police brutality and fear blacks have of policing and tried to equate that to his boilerplate economic argument and let his own engrained perception of black americans slip out, in how he reworded what he heard her say to fit his argument.

The girl he quotes never said whites don't know what its like to live in the ghetto, whites don't know what it means to be poor.
So if you are going to use the context argument atleast know what the word means, and what taking someone's quote out of context means.

Actually you do care. Why else are you so concerned with people's support of a presidential candidate? He's not Bernie from down the street who's popping off at the mouth. He's Bernie the presidential candidate who's trying to gain votes. He's only relevant in the context of the election.
