:pachaha: This thread is some ungrateful ass shyt really, cause I do this shyt for the love and don’t have to make any money. I just love making beats and putting out my beat tapes and love when rappers want to spit on my shyt. I probably could be charging more but it ain’t that serious. I just like making music.

Well it’s this one rapper, who actually pretty dope lyrically. Spitting real shyt and everything. We did a few tracks together. They cool but it’s something missing, like he just sound kind of dated with the rapping even though he can rap.

He working on a project and just sent me 7 songs he did over beats he had over there from me. Now when a rapper send me several songs they did on my beats, it’s like getting a Christmas present lol. It ain’t like I sell beats often so I be pretty excited. But man, all these songs sound so :flabbynsick:

I want to like them but I really don’t like em too much, and I did the beats :dead: I feel hella guilty for feeling this way cause dude is a cool person and not even a bad rapper. I feel like I should be more grateful as someone who just likes rappers to do tracks over my beats. Anyone else dealt with shyt like this before?

Currently dealing with this now. :mjlol:

One of my good friends from school hit me up and he raps. nikka basically buys studio time to freestyle off the dome, he raps on a lot of my beats and 92% of it is trash. (Every blue moon some of that shyt bangs :whoo:)

I see it as a challenge tho, I feel that if I make beats that are good enough then it doesn't matter what he spits, it'll come together, so I keep grinding. So that's the best thing I can really say about it, look at it as a challenge. And some of that material he sends you can be used to showcase your ability, which may lead to you running into someone you are actually a fan of.

If he gets butthurt he’s a ho ass mf. You should definitely give him honest as fukk feedback. Even if it’s minimal like your rapping sounds outdated. I would say it. Growing pains hurt but needed af.

imagine showing up in a studio back in the day to freestyle off the top knowing every session cost hundreds. probably wouldn't happen.

easier recording makes for a lot of terrible music that wouldn't have passed before.

Does he freestyle/punch in every few bars, or does breh just wing it where you can easily tell its off the dome?

yes....my roommate hooked me up with a female rapper who heard my shyt and wanted to hop on one of my beats

first collab we did, she sent me one of her acapellas and I remixed it for her...everybody we played it for loved it without even knowing it was us...so im thinking im onto something

she's one of those quirky stoner rappers so I sent her some laid back, spacy shyt

she hops on there and starts talking all this man hating, cut a nikka dikk off shyt, with a choppy ass flow at that...im just sitting there with the :picard:

i hit her back and told her I was looking for something chill....and she got real real hurt by the shyt and that was that :francis:

I always go easy on the criticism, I feel most rappers of them will figure it out on their own what their sound is, I just nudge them into that direction if possible.
