I remember reading in Rolling Stone right before Recovery came out, dude said that he did so much drugs that it basically put a hole in his brain, so that when he got clean, he basically had to learn how to write rhymes again. shyt has nothing to do with him not being able to rap and everything to do with lack of artistic direction and being a hermit trying to cater to a fanbase that isn't even mostly made up of core fans. Relapse is my favorite Em album and what do you know Dre was all over it..leave him to his own devices for a whole project and he's just a studio rat with no real artist direction.

If he's using a choppy/chino XL type flow it's not because he can't rap like you'd rather him do it..it's just what he's on at the moment for whatever reason. He has that OCD shyt where he'll jump on a technique (accents, screaming, cram a million words in a bar battle rap) and just OD on it until something else peaks his interests.


^That's not a case of "Eminem can't rap". That's him doing his rendition of modern day battle rap (more spoken word, beat is an after thought) because he feels like doing it regardless of how annoying it might be to people
