Everybody wants to be a billionaire and live this lavish, over the top lifestyle where one could afford anything and everything. Private jets, mansions, private islands, luxury clothing ect. ect. Then they have a few charities set up in their name (which they get paid off as well) to say that they "give back"

If you really think about all the problems in the world and how many people need help, then you have this one group of people who have amassed and hold enormous, truly ridiculous amounts of wealth that they themselves can never personally spend....how are these people not terrible. I used to read the Forbes billionaires list and think of how great these people must be until it recently dawned on me that these people are selfish. How can you have SO MUCH money and not spend enough of it to help others. I thought about that 100M check Floyd Mayweather posted that he's had for over a year not even cashed. So you mean to tell me you're already living super lavish with all the money you could ever spend in a lifetime, knowing people in your community are dying and you'd rather post a pic of the money instead of putting it into action and doing something with it???

And we're all lead to worship this mentality as if it's something to strive for and to be. Is there anything wrong with being wealthy and abundant? Absolutely not? I intend to make millions in my lifetime so my family and those after me and them can live well. But how much is too much and when does one stop collecting money just to say "look at me, i'm super rich?"

If you're going to go there, just about everyone in the West is entitled, pretentious and selfish. Especially when you compare the circumstances that TRULY poor, malnourished people face in third world countries. We're all full of shyt and selfish. Everyone from the billionaire to the man making 30,000 a year who complains that he doesn't make enough.

Yes, but the person making 30k a year still has to budget and make sacrifices on a day to day just to get through year to year especially in this economy. We're talking about people with more money that they could spend in 3 lifetimes or more. Year to year these people just hold on to their money only to collect more and more and nothing else.

Those are "sacrifices" to people of the western world. Not real sacrifices. Nothing stopping anyone and everyone from living a frugal lifestyle, besides the idea that they "deserve more". In 2016 there are human beings dying from infection and starvation. What you call sacrifices, someone from another part of the world would call a privilege. A good amount people in the West are struggling because they choose to.

OP first of all counting another man's pockets is a problem in itself showing your lack of success.

And by your logic everybody with more is responsible for everybody with less. Everybody with less didn't grind like everybody with more. Billionaires are the ultimate supply and demand folks because you don't make a billion supplying a need people don't want.

I was thinking about this the other day but then I had an even more cynical thought: the people you help get out of squalor and abject poverty probably aren't going to help others do the same and instead selfishly set their sights on becoming billionaires themselves. I heard this saying once that people love to cross bridges of opportunity and then cut the rope so no one else can make it across. The human race is inherently selfish, shortsighted, and misguided.

I will say that if black billionaires and super millionaires formed their own 1% to dictate our diaspora for our own interest how white people do they could probably improve a lot of shyt especially since 30% of their collective donations would revamp all kinds of schools and neighborhoods and businesses but, they got that white money, they'll get sipohoned off so it won't happen

Back to your point. A majority of those billionaires honestly just work and make back a bunch it's that simple, bill gates literally dropped billions in his donations, he just makes billions back

How is it counting another man's pockets when their wealth is advertised and promoted every year? You sound like an idiot.

What does selfish really mean when, at the end of the day, we're all for ourselves? That is, what is the incentive for a billionaire to share his/her wealth with the less fortunate? "It's the right thing to do" or any other morally based variant is not an acceptable response.
