Hip Hop has been glorifying ignorance for awhile now...It is the late-80s and 90s rappers who brought savagery into Hip Hop...The BIGGEST problem is that, the rappers from the 90s had a connection to decent black folks...For example, Biggie's mother was a wonderful public school teacher, Nas' father was a world class Jazz musician, Prodigy had a very wealthy grandmother, 2Pac had a freedom fighter mother until she turned to drugs, and so and so forth...
Basically, rappers from the 90s received game from Civil Rights pioneers, but instead of uplifting themselves they chose to portray themselves as savages...In the process they made a lot of money, but a lot community building knowledge was lost ...So, now there is a big gap between today's generation and the civil rights movement...No pride in the black community...
Fake savages became millionaires selling horror stories, now the real savages want a piece of that cake, and because they are real savages, of course they will take it to the extreme...
(1) G Dep thought he had just nicked the vick...He was told it was a cold case when he confessed...Glorify ignorance and murder, brehs.
As for G Dep snitching on himself, how is that bytch made? It takes a whole lot of courage to turn yourself in for something like that. He must have felt he was not right with the lord and had to confess his crime. Is murdering someone something to be proud of?
And Big Pun was a G. His momma was a junkie that forced him to sell drugs. He had depression issues, which made him eat the way he did. He had no self control in that field but that makes you a punk? Pun had serious issues. He even pistol whipped his own wife, I bet that's something to be proud of in your eyes, right?![]()
(1) G Dep thought he had just nicked the vick...He was told it was a cold case when he confessed...
(2) I am a mentally tough person (I was always, but I learned)...If you get away with murder, and you really feel guilty and unjustified...You need to be strong enough and carry the cross...The penance is to become rich and support the victims family through annonymous donations and becoming a victims' rights advocate...
Rap about the negative consequences of senseless criminal activity, and motivate the youth to be positive...Take care of your children and make sure they grow up idolizing doctors, nurses, teachers, policeman and other worthwhile professions...
You don't bytch out and and succumb to the weight of guilt...What good are you to anybody doing 15 in the pen...?
Your children lose a father, your wife a husband, you lose the potential to be a positive mentor in your community...All because you couldn't keep quiet...
Where would the Israelites be if Moses had bytched out after killing an Egyptian..Instead Moses went to meditate and found wisdom, and he used that wisdom to influence the ENTIRE planet...
That's strength in my opinion...
And Moses still paid a price. He went into exile. G Dep was living a good life as a free man.I am not denying it...you might want to research those three men i named and then compare them to who biggie was in brooklyn and call it what it was Pac was in over his head and got caught up with the wrong people
Only the government can make you pay the price...You gotta pay the price for your actions. In which ever way you can. Its not like G Dep was a millionaire that could feed that whole dudes family. And feeding his family wouldn't change the fact that you took his life. He felt that was the way he could atone so I respect him for it. Like you said, it was a cold case. He coulda been a free man the rest of his life and not given a shyt. If he felt that was his way to atone, I respect it.
And you're comparing Moses to G Dep?And Moses still paid a price. He went into exile. G Dep was living a good life as a free man.
Only the government can make you pay the price...
There is ZERO logic to confessing to a crime that occur more than a decade ago...
What exactly is there to gain? Peace of mind? That's bytchmade...You should be able to live with the consequences of your actions...G Dep took the easy way out...
Enduring mental anguish and maintaining is the BEST way to show how tough you are...Seeking forgiveness just so you can sleep better at night, is WEAK...
I am not glorifying drill music...For me, it is no different than watching a good action packed movie...I have no emotional investment...I am safe and sound in Canada...90s rapper weren't just shooting anything. the 90's dudes did dirt but first and foremost were about MAKING money.
"These young Drillers are dropping bodies and rapping about it...They are naming names with no fear of being caught lackn in the open field..."
that's just stupid and shows how a lot of these kids don't value life. that's not an accomplishment or something to put on a pedestal.
and why do you glorify this shyt like it's some sort of accomplishment, your dikkriding of drill music got me convinced you MUST be white.. no other people dikkride drill music and glorify this shyt like white people do on the internet.
I am not glorifying drill music...For me, it is no different than watching a good action packed movie...I have no emotional investment...I am safe and sound in Canada...
I DON'T relate to Drill Rappers, but the music is so authentic that it makes me want to join a gang at 27 years old...
And I stated on numerous occasions that the only thing I look for in a rapper is AUTHENTICITY...You can rap about aliens, pyramids and etc...As long as you have a good delivery, I am all ears...I am an extreme person when it comes my thinking...Human behaviour is a big interest of mine...
No it doesn't...Well, I think drugs influenced that decision. He might regret it now. But it still takes balls to put your life on the line like that. I think in his mind he wasn't right with the Lord, so that's why he decided to make that sacrifice. It wasn't just about personal guilt. I think he felt he needed to atone and that was the way to go.
I don't see it as weak. I think its a brave thing to do if you ask me.
So we shouldn't listen to Drill Music...?except the fact that it ISN'T a movie. and it's actually REAL LIFE.
and you're right.. you're safe and sound in canada hence why you dont give a fukk and make stupid ass threads like this and dikkride the fukk out of drill .
No it doesn't...
If you are working out, doing biceps curls, and your goal is to reach 10 reps, your mind will start to give up at around 7 or 8 reps, and your body will follow...That is why it is good to have a spotter, because they will help push passed that mental fail...
It is easier to just drop that dumbbell after 8 reps or cheat on your last few reps before 10...That is the easy way out...
G Dep dropped the dumbbell...Because that is the easiest thing to do...
When you REALLY REALLY think about it, whatever action you take is relatively always the easier one for you...If it was hard, then you would not be able to take it...
G Dep did what was the easiest thing for him to do...Unburden himself...For me, it would be easier to just keep carrying that cross...
