Oh, Its very real. But it depends on the culture of the office.

I once worked at a place where the boss rolled with a hlhellcat durango and a zL1 Camaro. My office treatment changed dramatically when i got 5.0 mustang from my regular car and joined the chargers/coorvettes/etc in the lot.

Random mentorship opportunities and promotions popped up less than 2mos after the fact. i was even invited to a bianual event event where a bunch of people from the office rented a runway at the airport to go racing.


My current spot is very very very german centric. Beyond a certain level the audi, bmw, or mercedes is the norm.
