we can look at the history of video games to see that our fav. games of all time probably look like shyt to what we play now. For example, Halo CE is my fav. game of all time....shyt came out in 01....Halo 4 is trash compared to it...the latter is pretty as fukk.
But in 01 when it came out it looked amazing at the time. If you compared it to older games before it they looked like trash. Halo 4 being trash has nothing to do with the graphics you know that.

new games will look better than old ones....that wasnt my point. I'm saying that no matter how better the hardware get, if Halo 4 doesnt provide a better gameplay experience than CE the gfx don't mean shyt...

If graphics was stopping games from playing great, then explain how Nintendo is able to keep making newer and newer versions of their games look even better than older ones and still get high ass scores?? Super Mario 3d World looks amazing and miles better than Mario 64 and the gameplay is pretty much better. Mario Galaxy 2 graphics on Dolphin look amazing and that game is amazing.

You copped a XB1 at launch even though most of the games were on 360 too. If gfx don't matter, people would've just stayed and played BF4, 2k14, COD, Fifa on PS3/360.
Those newer smackdown games I haven't played but if anything it's the engine those older wrestling games used that made it great, the AKI engine.
If they can remake this game
for PS4/Xb1 in 1080p/60fps with newer graphics but retain the same engine that would be both a great looking and still great playing game.
The Final fantasy problem isn't the graphics, it's because they changed everything that made older FF titles great namely the over world, interesting story and actual fun. The gameplay in Ff13 was actually the second best thing about it. The graphics didn't detract from the gameplay.

they might as well just start remaking every single game if the quality in gameplay is going to drop off..there is too much hype over how pretty games look today instead of the more important factor....does it play well?

The quality in gameplay isn't dropping off in games, it's just that as games get sequels, the devs usually try to get casuals in it and they dumb down the game.
Halo 4's graphics didn't make the game bad, it was those ordinance drops, faux kill streaks, map count, weapon balance etc. The graphics didn't make halo worse. For example, Mass Effect 1 vs 3. Mass Effect 3 looks damn near the same as 1 and actually has better gameplay but the story and the cut back features are what make people consider 1 to be better than 3.
GTA V is a better game than San Andreas sorry. lol that's nostalgia getting to you. San Andreas may have been piff back then but I tried playing it recently and besides the goat radio stations and crazy cast of characters in the perfect setting, it's 'gameplay' was pretty much crap.
The shooting was mainly lock on shooting and the driving was pretty much similar to how driving is now on GTA V. I'm sorry GTA San Andreas was not better than V in the gameplay department.
I think you're not getting what i'm saying...I'm not blaming the gfx in these games for anything...i;m saying ppl seem to ignore a games flaws because of how pretty it may look..

Mass Effect 1 DOES NOT look as good as Mass Effect 3. Hell no, that game will not age well compared to the sequel. I've never heard anyone say ME1 >>>> ME3....ME2 is considered the best in the trilogy.
Nah.. I don't know what game you talking about where people are ignoring flaws, if a game has issues it's brought to light. What games you know of that got a pass for being mediocre but still was praised?? Don't say KZ2 because that game was actually a good game. You prolly don't like it but I can honestly say at the time it came out both the SP and MP was tough because it was fresh and really gritty. Also not every game that has good gameplay is virtually amazing. Sometimes a game can have great gameplay but is plagued with glitches, bugs and low content making it wack despite it playing good.
San Andreas is called the most fun GTA game but I disagree that it's because of the gameplay. The gameplay in GTA San Andreas today is outdated. Those shooting mechanics and everything else is terrible compared to GTA V. What made it so great was the era it was set in as well as it being just a damn good game but today if a game came out with the same gameplay as San Andreas it would be unacceptable.
Mass Effect 1 does look as good as 3 if you playing it on PC. I have it on my PC and in seeing this shyt with the high resolution textures mod at 1440p at 60fps is crazy. Game looks super fukking crisp and smooth. ME1 I think by most fans would argue that it was the best one after 2 or even better than 2. If anything ask someone like @Emperor_ReinScarf , dude said he beat the game like 50 times(ME1) or @hexagram23 I know he a big ME fan.
