They all in Malawi. Look it up.
You could be the change you want to see in the world, no? What specifically are you building that people could galvanize behind and support financially that would inspire and uplift the community at large?
Every black politician is called a c00n. Many here don't seem the least bit concerned that @Family Man has to close his business indefinitely due to this ridiculous lockdown.
A younger black person (under the age 35) has to build everything from the ground up because our previous generations haven't been able to do so. In fact, by the time some of these brehs and brehettes get it popping they will probably have grey hair because the ones with the entrepreneurial spirit have to dig so deep and sacrifice so much, so by the time the goals are achieved, most are tired and burned out.
I guess what I am saying is, a black business can't become global, if it doesn't first thrive local, regional and national.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

Breh, I agree with the spirit of your post. I think people here misunderstood the point of my thread. I am speaking to how inconsequential these black celebrities are when the system is shut down. They are all we, black people, have as representatives of wealth in this society. But, when the quarantines are in place, their worth plummets. Without them stunting on the gram to impress upon black people the value of superficial trinkets, where is the representation of black wealth? Of black power? It's nowhere. Brehs are taking this thread literally, when it was more of a commentary on how inured we are to these bankrolled puppets of black wealth who are used to dupe our community into thinking we made it. Now that we are in the midst of a real crisis that poses an existential threat to our community, where the fukk are they?![]()
It's unfortunate that black people aren't familiar with people like Roger Ferguson or Bruce Gordon or Eddie Brown (Brown Capital). All of these men are in the financial world, black and successful. There's also black women like Ursula Burns, CEO of Veon (former CEO of Xerox). I know a lot here are familiar with Robert Smith, but all anyone talks about is that he married a former Playboy playmate.
These people are out there in the world. Some on the East Coast. Some on the West. Some in the Midwest. Need to start figuring out how to get in touch. They are wealthy, savvy people. They are social media spawn. They are respectable, hard working business people. I am not sure if they would ever be out shouting from the rooftops considering this is a health and political matter (so I guess we should be hearing from people like Corey Booker or Maxine Waters or Jim Clyburn for some type of response to uplift the masses.)
Really we Black Americans need to be staying in contact with the The Black Caucus in times like this or and other timesIt's unfortunate that black people aren't familiar with people like Roger Ferguson or Bruce Gordon or Eddie Brown (Brown Capital). In their gated communities with rich white folk.
