If you are single with no dependents, aren't itemizing deductions, and make less than like $50k/yr., you can just file the 1040-EZ form. Takes about 20-30 minutes. You need to file your taxes in order to be eligible for a Pell Grant because it is based on income. Your tax records will verify your income which you then use to apply for a Grant at your College or University's Financial Aid Office. Grants are money you do not have to pay back.
Those ones listed so far are all good. I been using TaxAct for the past 5 or so years. It walks you through everything, and you don't have to finish in one sitting if you don't want to, it'll save it. Also nice to peep how much you're getting back (or owe) as you progress through it......
