And truth be told, the "Thong Song" wasn't bad, great vocals by Sisqo. The video was a little outlandish, but it was supposed to be a fun song.
The song was called "Thong Song"

And I aint seen no women in thongs in that video.

Still disappointed almost 20 years later.

I heard he did something the Def jams execs did not want, and they stop putting money behind him. Something about Lil Kim on a record instead of Foxy. Could be wrong.

I had that album in 8th grade, and it was a personal favorite at time, I used to walk to school listening to "You're My Everything" (Remix) with the Ja Rule feature, and listened in some form of fascination at the sexuality of "How Can I Luv U 2 Nite" when my friends and I were trying to do the "American Pie" lose our virginity thing, I still love all the classics from that album.

I remember my girl( now wife) and I watched that video when it premiered on 106th and Park and when them dudes lifted him up and with him being so "dainty" acting, and that 2nd album being "utter trash" it was a wrap...but we always have 2 classic Dru Hill albums and his first solo to fall back on

nah.

You dont go from 5x platinum on one album to falling off immediately.

I mean yeah it happened to him but it wasn't normal
You do if you count his group success dru hills first two albums were very successful the solo album was the pinnacle of success it was no where to go but down.

The fact that I cant even remember his second solo dropping is telling, but a lot of singers in the late 90's, had one major look, as solo artists, and that was essentially the end. The end of the early 2000's, marked the career stagnation of many of our favorite R&B acts.
