Like do we put them in the same category? With guys like no id, yeezy, premo (i guess, kinda overrated imo), etc.

In terms of influence and domination they are definitely in the same category, personally i dont think anyone seperated themselves from the pack like lex an mike

there might be other new producers im missing idk, but yea id consider them in the same category, i prefer lex/mike's shyt anyway :stylin::stylin::stylin:

Okay, Mike Will's been on the map since 2011's "Tupac Back", which is two years. Yes, he's been dominant since last summer's "Mercy", but why exactly should he be ranked with legendary producers? We're talking about producers who have not only fully produced landmark albums, but have classic genre defining (and re-defining songs) under their belts. We're talking producers who have 20+ years of relevance. Producers who have bigger hits than his biggest hit (at this point in his career). To answer the question, he sits nowhere near legendary producers. At least not right now.

As for Luger, who impacted in 2010, but has been under the radar since the Wale song featuring Jerimih: I think he's higher than Mike Will, but still not legendary. A lot of producers are biting his sound and "BMF" did change how a lot of "trap producers" made those type of beats. Now these EDM trap producers are using that style.

an i feel like u guys havent heard most of lex/mike wills songs, not that they would change ur opinion

as someone who respects all forms of hip hop i can see them being in/close to the top 10 of all time tbh, im tired of nostalga dictating most hip hop fans' opinions

Exactly, Mike Will and Lex have singles, mixtape tracks and loosies under their belt. Guys like Premo, Kanye, Neptunes and Timberland have ALBUMS of great production. I can't see it.

i thought of that too, ive found most producers have those 3-5 years where theyre on fire though, an im also kinda assuming lex an mike stay killin it for the next couple years since theyre both almost picking up steam. Their discog's are as large if not larger than some legends already
