I'm in good shape and know I could knock the majority of :flabbynsick: dudes walking the streets, and I am a legal gun owner. However it's getting spooky out here and I want all the weapons in my arsenal that are possible. I'm think about ju jitsu. Are those places :mjpls:? any Chicago brehs got info?

Boxing is good to start with in 6 months u can deal with anyone. It is highly technical tho and as such prolly best to focus on just that for a while then move into grappling.

Wrestling is great but as the poster anove suggested Jiu Jitsu / Judo may be better. Wrestling relies on raw power a lil too much where as the other 2 show u how to use leverage in addition to brute strength which will teach u how to fight the smaller and bigger opponent.

Muay Thai is great as well but try these two 1st

Muay Thai is the best. If you can't find a Muay Thai gym then learn boxing instead

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu..

Boxing you dont spar at first..
BJJ you do full on training right out the gate and learn shyt you can apply in real world situations instantly.

Boxing they gonna have you hitting bags and getting footwork first before sparring.

Also understand, unless you are training to be a professional, you really need to view martial arts/boxing/etc., as a way of self defense in real life

Do enough damage to defend yourself and gtfo of the situation you are in.

A lot of people get in it because they are p*ssy and like to use it to try and bully others who are less knowledgeable.

But real life is not a game and engaging for no reason will leave you fukked up nowadays more times than not.. no matter what you know or think you know

Because boxing requires conditioning and technique.

If you don't know how to throw a proper punch or take one, sparring isn't going to do shyt for you

Get heavily invested in boxing for a year and you'll be better than 70% of the population off the rip... If you got the extra money you may want to entertain a reputable BJJ gym.... I haven't fukked with BJJ yet because I felt like I was too old to be rolling on some mat with another motherfukka..... but after looking into it with some respected friends who train.. it's going to be more taxing from a conditioning standpoint moreso than a physical one if that makes since....
