might not be, that was just a joke
landlords charge market rate though (to the government) and have to pass annual inspections so section 8 houses are rarely trash

I don't think you can live on your own with $10 an hour. When I got my first apartment I needed to make at least $14 an hour to qualify for rent x3 and this was 12 years ago.

Gone be a lotta people getting poked then, Kuz them wages mostly come from corporate

Anyway, there are places you can live making 3200 before taxes. You just have to plan your spending around the facts that you don't make that much and that you prolly need to save as much as you can while searching for a better job.
