Where do you expect the MCU to go after Infinity War?

Where will the Marvel Cinematic Universe go after the final Avengers movie?

Supposedly Avengers 4 is going to wrap up the overarching story for the current MCU and tie up loose ends for a lot of characters. So you have to wonder where it'll go after that in terms of actors and stories, especially since some of the actors (ie. Robert Downey Jr.) are getting up there in age. So do you expect -

  • A full continuity reboot with new actors?
  • A "soft reboot" with mostly new actors but where the old stories are still mostly in continuity?
  • No reboot, and just having a lot of the current characters retire (but appear as cameos) and be replaced by their successors? So maybe after Avengers 4 Tony retires and some new Iron Man (Women?) takes his place?
  • No more continuity at all with each movie being its own thing?

Or some other option?

No reboot, just a lot of the OG Avengers will either die or retire, some will continue. They will move forward with Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Antman and Wasp and Captain Marvel with some of the old players specifically Bucky, Falcon, Scarlett Witch and maybe some players from movies not released yet (Valkrie, Shuri, Goliath).
They will split the narrative between space and earth with two different overarching story lines. On earth will be Secret Invasion and I think they set up Annihilation on the cosmic tip.

They're not going to reboot after just introducing characters like Black Panther, Dr Strange, and Captain Marvel. That'd be moving backwards.

If anything you'll just see certain characters "put on the shelf" for a while. they might not be killed off but they might be retired briefly or they'll no longer get solo films for a while. Then those characters will be brought back with new actors in the roles.

I'm also still of the belief that they should start doing villain crossovers. Red Skull vs Black Panther would be dope. Klaw or Killmonger could potentially be a great Iron Man villains. The Guardians of the Galaxy vs Loki could be Epic. Ant-Man and his crew taking on Hydra is a no brainer.

Spiderman movies.

Seriously, everything will be about spiderman after this shyt.

Well I mean, I'm sure they'll take advantage of having a young Spidey and have him in the role for a while, but you can only do one Spidey movie every two years or so. They'll need more than that. :heh:

Slight time skip to account for the world post Infinity War to add import to the event. Also allows for an introduction of new faces and the passing of the baton for others without throwing away too much for any type of reboot.
