Where do you get your confidence?

If I am prepared for it, I am not nervous. I am confident.
If I am unprepared, that's where stress or lack of confidence comes from.

True but I think confidence is when even if you are unprepared for something you still know that you got it in the bag

My confidence came from when I was young & I realized that I was more intelligent than almost all my peers while also being better looking (according to bytches). My confidence has just built from these two facets since then. Also from realizing that most people are the same & are going through the same shyt (generally), so there's nothing to really fear. I'm also working out more now, so that's building my confidence

The best answer so far. I think people gain confidence from success.

This. I grew up playing sports and being good at them. Also with art, I received a lot of attention as well.

So, accolades and positive affirmation mixed in with the respect of my peers bred my confidence. Then when I became a young man I became fully aware of the fact that I was good looking, charming and funny. This led to being sure of myself when dealing with woman. Overall... I am a confident person but there is still an underlying trait of self doubt and insecurity that peaks its head out every once and a while. I always feel like I have to be "on".

Not asking philosophically but on a personal level. Where exactly do you get your confidence from?

Does it stem from the validation given to you by others? Or was your confidence there in your genes and you just rolled with it?

One can only truly be confident through knowledge. Surety allows you to be confident. Only way to be a winner is to learn to stop losing in the same way over and over. Once you KNOW HOW TO WIN, then you have confidence that supersedes losers' opinions.

I don't think it's confidence if you're unprepared.
What that is...is we lie to ourselves to get over the fear of being unprepared. It's like a faux-confidence. I'm sure I could phrase it differently but I can't seem to think right now.
For lack of a better term, let's call it "faith", not confidence.

shyt, just life experiences man. Having things hit the fan and somehow finding my way through. Early on though I'd say it came from sports. I'm an overall athlete and I tend to get good at the things I practice, but thats more of an ego thing. The actual confidence is definitely due to life's challenges.
