I split my general nonfiction time between..
1/3 = hot news.. things that are very timely.. Germany vote on coalition government, who won the ballgame?? Etc
1/3 = semi-hot .. Things like Amazon opening a cashier-less c-store, an analysis on immigration (you don't need to read it today, but if you wait more than a few months it's outdated)
1/3 = cold.. things like an archaeological dig outside st Louis last year, a first hand account of a 1986 championship game (I could read that today, in August, or in 2022.. Still will have most of the same insights and perspectives)

In that frame,, to get to specifics
  • 3x a week = Reuters TV 30 min (while on elliptical, free app using gym's wifi)
  • 2x a week = the Washington Post (on pressreader app, free thru library) .. Usually Monday and then either wed/thurs
  • 1x week = Guardian -big sunday (pressreader again)
  • 1x month =The Atlantic (Zinio app, library)
  • Pocket (various)

The wildcard is pocket app..
I keep anywhere from 50-200 articles saved for later reading
I pull those from everywhere.. a fragment of something I overhear, something I look up, or want to know more about, even the coli
