Second greatest PF of all time. The only reason I rank Duncan higher is because of his run in the playoffs from 01-03.

KG had to anchor the Timberwolves offense and defense. The Spurs defense was always great without Duncan.

Lol, I feel like all these conversations come down to KG versus Dirk and as any sensible non-biased man, fukk Dirk. KG was the better basketball player and while I do give Dirk props for that finals run, to me thats one of the most impressive runs I've seen, still doesn't negate that basketball as a whole is played on both ends and I dont think the difference between Dirks offense compared to KG is as wide as KGs defensive impact. Its annoying that people say he didnt show up in playoff games because two of the biggest games of his career, he carried his teams, Game 7 against Sacramento and Game 6 against the Lakers to clinch the title. I remember more games from the playoffs but because he didnt have sustained playoff success, I cant really be upset. But at no point during those early First Round exit years did the Wolves actually have a better team than anyone they played. And when he actually got talent that could match his in 03, he won MVP, got the #1 seed, made it to the WCF where Cassell got hurt then it was up to the likes of Troy Hudson, Fred Hoiberg, Trenton Hassell to pick up the scoring slack. :scust:

After KG got traded he immediately turned the Celtics around, should have won MVP, did win DPOY and then won a title. They probably would have won at least one more if he hadn't already ran himself into the ground. And the Wolves didnt make the playoffs for 14 years :beli:

His loyalty cost him from a wins perspective but he literally carried a franchise, cultivated a fan base to actually care about professional basketball while the front office seemingly actively working against him. 02-03 03-04 KG is my favorite basketball I've ever watched. I dont have a ranking because my bias wont allow me to put anyone over KG because Duncan is a Center :wow: :mjcry:

Duncan would be the best obviously

And then three of them: KG, Giannis, Dirk, all are pretty much in the same tier as all won a championship but also had several disappointing playoff years.

Those 1st round exits by KG in Minnesota, or Giannis losing in 1st round for a while now, or Dirk doing pretty bad in playoffs from 07 to 10 when those were his peak years:
Lost to Golden State as a 67 win team as the MVP
Lost to Hornets in 1st round
Lost to Denver in 2nd round
Lost to 7th seed San Antonio in 1st round

Mailman and Barkley being below those 4, as they had even more disappointing years in their resume and no championship.

Only so high you can be when you arent an elite number 1 option offensively. He wasnt a guy you could pass the rock and say, "ok finish this game or this series...take us home". KG is the perfect, prototypical, GOAT 2nd option. Him and Kobe or Bron or shyt even Tim would have wrecked the league. We cant let potential and theatrics cloud our judgement. He had all the tools to be number 1 with a bullet, he just wasnt cut like that. A wealthy mans Sheed.

Out of respect I am not commenting on people I didnt see.

What Dirk did in Dallas for a decade is so underrated. And contrary to myth he wasnt on stacked teams every year. His squad was 50 wins and a top 4 seed in the superior conference every year with a revolving door around him. Dude literally swept KG with the difference in their PPG matching the difference in their teams PPG for the series. Dude had more top 10 defenses than KG during their time in the conference together.
