Elephant in the room is Reigns/HHH... not that it's my pick, but it's playing out on TV like it may go that way.

I'm guessing Sheamus gets his rematch at the Rumble to close that feud out. So then, who faces Reigns at the February PPV is a headscratcher... but it seems like the storyline going forward is that the McMahons want the title off Reigns. Maybe he faces HHH there.

Reigns/Lesnar at Mania would make the most sense and have a good backstory, being that there was no winner last year... so maybe Lesnar wins the Rumble and somewhere along the line, the McMahon shyt ties in, like they're behind Lesnar going in to the show.

Reigns/Cena is probably in the background... but they can always do that (or Reigns/Rollins) for SummerSlam.

Reigns vs Cena or Brock he goes over either one. If it's Brock he legitimizes himself by being the man to finally get a pinfall victory. If it's Cena, it's a passing of the torch moment.
I doubt if Cena is taking all this time off he's passing any torches as soon as he comes back

:dahell: I understand that breh. But nobody on the roster is ready for that position:manny:
And whose fault is that? And when are they going to get around to thinking about life after Cena? Hogan didn't even have a run this long in the WWE's top spot.

Cena cuts promo's week in advance of the Rumble that he wants to become 16 time Champion at the biggest Wrestlemania of all time. Both him and Brock both are in the Rumble where the latter lays waste to absolutely everyone. Then as Brock eliminates two of the final four, Cena turns heel and eliminates Brock. Boom! Reigns vs Heel Cena at WM32 (Brock comes for payback at Fast Lane, Cena wins with heel tactics again).

:patrice: How does he turn heel in the Rumble?

Using backhanded or flat out cheating tactics to get the upper hand over Brock. Then you use the build-up to and the match at Fast Lane to solidify it.
The old Taker special, huh?

It's likely going to be Reigns vs Lesnar. Lesnar got the streak with the purpose of putting over Reigns who would have been the one to tame the beast no one else could but they had to back out due to fan response.
There's no doubt Vince isn't letting that go.
Reigns vs Cena could happen, but if Roman catches fire, they should hold off.
The guy who holds the belt for all intents is "the man," and Reigns will get the benefit 95% of guys outside of Cena didn't get when champ, and that's credible booking.
There's more money in letting it build. John realizes he has unofficially lost his spot to the guy who beat the beast that squashed him and at Summerslam vs Reigns, goes heel to try and stave off the newly minted alpha.
He can put Rome over clean at WM in 2017.
Going to feel rushed and anticlimactic if he goes over John in three months with only a feel good "passing of the torch" face vs face match.
