Family Matters was initially supposed to be about Harriet Winslow and her family until Urkel literally stole the show

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT the fact that he's a 'supporting actor'....he certainly started that way, but as you pointed out, he became the main character by demand and remained that way for almost the entire run of the series.

Carlton's #1 to me.
