I voted “she was the final ingredient that made 3-6 work”
My first introduction to 3-6 was “Tear Da Club Up”. It was coo...but it was regional rap in a sea of regional rap.
Then “Late Nite Tip” came out, and she killed that...plus her ad-libs on the chorus was a nice touch.
But “Where Dem Dollas At?”, “Remember Me Ballin’”, and “I Like” is made me sit up and start paying attention to HCP as an entity. Not long after that I went to see my peoples in Arkansas for the holidays, and my cousin picked me up bumpin’ some new chit called Ghetty Green, and it was a done deal after that.
Boo was on one of the hardest (if not the hardest) female joints of all-time.
All things considered, Boo is in that tier in the mid. I can’t put her in that top tier with the pioneers,
but there are differently not very many I would place over her.
(disclaimer: I am a bit biased because Boo kinda looks like my sister.)
Like... I ain’t rankin’ Boo over Brat, Rage, Mia X or Digga.
I don’t know if I would put Boo over Chat in good conscience; they are that closely matched.
But - Trina and damn near every broad that came after her are behind Boo.
