He's been one of the biggest disappointments for me in r and b- I personally think another again is a classic, perfect follow-up to his debut (avoided the sophomore slump that plagues so many artists). He sounds excellent live (one of the best I've ever heard and that says a lot esp since he does falsetto) too but his material is hella repetitive and gives me as much life as wet paint.
Edit: in response to your original q, he gets props for writing his own material and being good at the chops but he pales in comparison to Maxwell and Joe and them. I think he messed up signing with GOOD, they don't seem like they back r&b like they could have.
^^^to Dora, Alicia never had a chance to me, she always had too much of a nineties feel to her music, i don't need her to be sexy or whatever but she doesn't have the vocals to be great at the slow ballads and tender joints she does all the time.
