I don't have a problem with the speech, because he is right. However his timing couldn't be any worse. A speech like that.......you make at the beginning of training camp when your setting your goals for the season and setting the tone.

It backfired but he's not going to get any backlash for it. 1. because of his resume, 2. The backlash is going to be the hardest on D'Antoni (who had almost a whole season to make adjustments for Dwight), & Jim Buss (for being an even worse executive then Brian Colangelo) 3. Dwights reputation for being indecisive and fickle
