Have you heard all of Benzino's work?. I'm speaking historically right now, now Wayne better, but Benzino has had a pretty long career too, he's released good shyt in that time.

I hear nor feel none of this influence in any of Kendrick's music.

I hear nor feel none of this influence in any of Kendrick's music.
Kendrick's fast paced frantic flows are clearly Wayne inspired. Kendrick himself said in an interview he was inspired by Wayne.

"The craziest thing about Wayne, what people don't understand is that you get a lot of younger cats that's listening to him now and feel he's a new artist," he said. "I go all the way back to the Hot Boys days and being 13, listening to this dude. Just remembering the staple he put on the game back then all the way to now, to have that longevity years beyond it. For him to actually acknowledge what I'm doing right now and seeing it as a path, the same way the longevity he created, it's a great feeling to share that same stage and a moment with him. Wayne ain't no new jack to this game. He influenced a lot of styles and a lot of sounds. I would say I was influenced by a certain sound and flow and cadence that he brung to the game."

The C4 mixtape is a homage to Wayne's Tha Carter series, hence the title and tattoos on K-Dot's eye lids as well.

Tell me this isn't a Wayne imitation by Kendrick even the hook is an interpolation of Lil Wayne from Swag Surf off the No Ceilings mixtape.

Just this year Kendrick signed to endorse Reebok because of Wayne, Reebok sneakers and Girbaud jeans was the style in New Orleans when Cash Money was first popping and Wayne was on the Hot Boys. Kendrick also recorded with Wayne this year for The Carter V.

Ok firstly I'm not trolling at all, it's my opinion. 50 probably yeah, Get Rich Or Die Tryin' and the mixtape shyt was dope. Obviously he did fall off hard, but he had a period where he was dope. This list isn't in order, it was a random off the top list of people I'd probably rank higher. Bare in mind I don't hate Wayne at all, I listen to some of his work, and have heard all of it. I think I have every Wayne mixtape/album, the problem with Wayne FOR ME is inconsistency, he might have 100 songs and 2 of them be good, his ratios aren't dope to me. He has a lot of trash to me and shyt that isn't dope or feels forced, but then again he has some dope shyt. If he was consistent at his best level he would probably be a top 50, but he's not to me. There's just too many dope rappers for me to put Wayne high up. But it merely my opinion, don't have to pay it no mind, it's just my view point after hearing the work.

IDK how and where to rank him :patrice:

On one hand you can see the progress he made from shytty to a solid MC in the mid-2000s, he also had a little period when he was on fire and dropping shyt here and there. I fukked with a bit of his material too. On the other hand, he never had a classic album (C2 would be the closes to it) and a lot of his shyt was basically freestyling over other nikkas beats. He did have a few hot songs but he also made a ton of trash as well.

He's an influential rapper who never striked me as being truly great and also had several moments and periods of being garbage.

So ya IDK :beli:
