Tough to compare different eras, but offensive linemen as a whole as much stronger and more athletic today. The schemes are more advanced too. Add in the fact that there are more rules that make it difficult for defenders (especially pass rushers), and I don’t see anyone that you can put above him since at least 2000.

I don’t want to go so far to say he’s the greatest we’ve seen, but I won’t fault anybody for saying that. I probably feel that way, but people will start bringing up LT and some players from the 90’s and prior.

Not Cesar Ruiz Ruin :jordanfacepalm: @smitty22

I personally think hes #1

He's played at an MVP level and NEVER had a supporting offense. That makes his job 10x harder than it needs to be. Imagine if he was on the Eagles or some shyt where he's playing with leads and not constantly on the field because his offense went 3 and out.

If Myles could play with wreckless abandon like LT was able to do he would probably go down as the GOAT defensive player. He would be putting a lot of QBs in IR. All the defensive players today have to slow down when they're about to hit QBs, gotta be careful about getting their hands close to the QBs head, and just a lot more restrictions against them. LT, as great as he was, had the luxury of being able to do whatever he wanted to an offensive player.

The Real Titletown
Teams pass a lot more now
Hope not fckn with Taylor, White or Donald i know that much.

You don’t have to think he’s the greatest, but to say he’s not in the class of those players or “not fukking with” them is absurd.

Different eras are tough to compare, but LT and White could rush the QB with little to no fear of a roughing the passer. Myles Garrett and lash rushers today have to be very cautious and conscious of what they are doing when they hit the QB. Can’t tough the helmet, can’t hit them high, have to watch from hitting them low……and did I mentioned to make sure if you fall on them that you’re body weight isn’t used to fall on them?

Dude had a game with 5 sacks vs NE and 4 sacks vs the Ravens and still lost..man I know dude wanted to get paid but he should have left Cleveland- he would be propped up more if played in a better situation and got more opportunities in playoff games.

Cracks Deepening In NFL OL Play

I've heard it talked about with local (Dallas) and national guys regarding the struggles offensive linemen are having when it comes to transitioning from CFB to the NFL.

I think Myles would be a monster in any era and he's HOF bound. Sucks for him that he's stuck on such a poor squad. Seems happy being there, but there's got to be some part of him that wishes he could play for a ring.

With that said, while I think defensive linemen are as good or better than the past, the O-line play has gone backwards a bit. It makes guys like Myles standout even more.

You're saying they should let players snort cocaine before and during the game :russ:
