Lol. KG finished 2nd in MVP voting that year and wasn't the best player on the team? The Celtics were the worst team in the NBA the year before he showed up, but he wasn't the best player on the team?

:pachaha:

Anyone who says Pierce or Allen were ever the best player on the Celtics when they were all together is a fool. It went from being KG's team to Rondo's - and that Rondo part is debateable because when it mattered most(the playoffs) KG was always the best player on the team even in his twilight years(See: 2011 playoff run, 2012 playoff run).

I just fleshed out the reasons for you homie. Believe what you wanna believe, but most people will tell you KG is better than Pat for the reasons I listed. And if you want to get into advanced stats, KG's career Player Effeciency Rating is 2 points higher.

To be fair, in 07' Pierce played less then 50 games they didnt have Ray Allen and no thibs to install his defensive system which Garnett thrived in. They always did fine without KG from 07-11 anyway

So what I get is KG is better because he became a Celtic, missing the playoffs 4 straight years in his prime is laughable.

Some of y'all here have the nerve to say he's better than Duncan?

Nope. KG is one of my all time favorites but he is not better than Duncan. He's better than Ewing though :manny:

Those teams that missed the playoffs were bad by the way. Really bad. From ownership to coach to the players KG was surrounded with.

u mean the one when ewing was nowhere to be found?

Bill Walton was the only one that kept it real about Charles Smith a few years ago, freezing the replay of those blocked shots showing Patrick Ewing in the ground WATCHING everything instead of helping.

Even Walt used to shyt on Pat to being a choker. I'll never forget when it was a close with pat on the free throw line and Walt said the following:

"Patrick on the line in a crucial situation where he's had the propensity to miss in the clutch!!"

He proceeded to clank the first free throw. :russ:

A lot of players you'd pick over Ewing, had another Superstar to help them.

Who did Ewing have?

And also, if Ewing had another Superstar, I'm sure he'd get more props than some of you so-called basketball fans give him now.

Ewing is one of those players in NBA history who gets blamed for having no help.

I agree with him never having adequate help....but he didn't help things either. My boy and I used to always clown him for never being a defined athlete. He didn't look like he worked out much. He could have improved if he did.

The resident Patrick Ewing hater over here.

Name one legitimate All-Star Ewing had on his team when they were contending. Emphasis on legitimate.

Ewing was making consistent playoff runs with a bunch of CBA (when it was called the CBA) players.

People kill me in here sometimes, hate just to hate.

Starks & Oakley made one all star each. Mark Jackson won rookie of the year. That's the extent of his help until he was way past his prime and soft ass Houston showed up and then Spee.

We all know the real reason for all Ewing's misfortunes stems directly from having that black leprechaun fukking up the garden's juju on the sidelines. Get Spike the fukk outta here already.

I said he played with no one yet knows he was a choker and not a good rebounder. Sue me, but I was never a big fan
