Even with Lavine as their best scorer being questionable/hurt and not really going off like he has they stayed in it with one of the best teams in the league, because of Russ. Sabonis was banged up too if I remember correctly.
In fact most of the games they've lost so far were winnable. I never watched Derozen play that much but I don't like it lol, this time could make some noise with some adjustments.

I'm a regular fan and you and I saw what he did for the wizards as far as driving us. Then we think OK man we rebuilding. Go get your flowers. He takes his kids back home only to get shytted on for something thats not his archetype. That's on front office. I know what he is. You guys get paid to do this. Why are you surprised its backfiring. That's not who he is. I thought Denver thought different but even them.
The best place for Russ is not on a contender where they pigeon hole him but on a team he encourages young players to wild out despite their flaws and have a player tree.

I had a whole season of watching breh drive himself to roughly 22 pts 12 rebounds and 12 assists.. That's not normal yet he's so hated.. Does everything except shoot but people will shyt on him.
Drove the whole.team too then it collapsed when he left.
