Putting LeBron on Perkins in the finals was an excellent move, he didn't let the Thunder's size advantage decide the matchup by going with Haslem/Anthony instead of Battier.

doc had a .500 record with darrell armstrong as the leading scorer.
dude coached some horrific teams.

Nah, I'm genuinely happy for the Heat. LOVED the way Lebron played and he went out and took the title. Plus loving how he straight owned up to past fukk ups. Can't help but respect it.

definitely one of the worst, his in game adjustments are putrid... he's lucky he went up against a coach that is even worse than he is, although he thoroughly outcoached Brooks...
Mark Cuban basically said "Spo made zero adjustments in the Finals last year" on First Take the other day, it's rare to hear an owner blatantly shyt on a coach like that
him winning a championship makes him a better coach though, and not just in the eyes of the public... a lot of Spo's problems were not X's and O's, but rather you just got the feeling that the players weren't really buying into what he was saying and he didn't command that level of respect that is usually given to upper echelon coaches... I think him having a ring changes that

Phil only stands out cuz he coached 3 of the five best players of the last 20+ years. Like you say, it's a players league. Don't get me wrong; not saying any idiot could've had the same success as Phil with those squads, but another good coach would have.
Yup. Got a squad and his true colors shone through. From outcoaching Phil in 08 to taking a far superior Heat team to seven this year.
