Where does the myth of the "homophobic Black community" come from?

Around here, gay dudes were the ones doing Black women's hair/nails/etc. If we knew someone was gay, we'd make fun of them just like we'd make fun of anyone else in our community. It was just part of growing-up. I got made-fun of because I was into books. I made fun of Steve because he liked dudes. Didn't stop us from playing Little League or trading baseball cards. Some of the most 'thorough' looking/acting dudes around here were gay.

Yup. Go to ANY club/hair salon and you'll see for yourself.
Well. According to what's being posted white people have it hard growing up.

Upon popular belief, majority of black people don't cosign with that gay lifestyle shyt it's just that some in our community put up (bullshyt along) with it because they don't wanna hurt the person but deep down most of us don't really rock with that shyt.

I know on the internet, twitter feeds etc got y'all thinking over 80% of the black community riding with gay people but in reality it's not even that close.

Gay Black people have a tough time not because they are gay, but because they are Black.

That narrative about our community being homophobic is some bullshyt.

We're tough on errbody because we HAVE to be to survive.

Growing up in the bay I used to see gay nikkas getting mobbed on for no reason.

Nikka, you from the bay so you should know how racist even the white gay community was out there. Just one example from the 90s. It's worse the further you go back.

SF's First Black-Owned Gay Bar Offered Refuge from Racism in the '90s Queer Scene

"In the 1970s and 1980s, Rodney recalled, gay bars were among the least hospitable places in San Francisco for black people such as himself. There was hardly a place for gay black people to dance, let alone throw a fundraiser for a gay black political candidate."

Yes, but that 'tolerance' for the lack of better word is better and more progressive than other communities. Look at white people with their culture wars. If white gays didn't have enclaves of their own, you would see just how "accepting" white people are of the gay lifestyle.

Straight Black men do tend to be more vocal in our disgust for homosexuality, but it's not because we're more homophobic then other men.

Black men are just the only men that constantly get homosexuality thrown in our faces, due to lack of respect.

Black women love to try and force us to accept it. All women like gay men, but women of other races know not to bring that gay shyt around straight masculine men.

Gay dudes in the hood have it harder than gay dudes in white communities.

Blacks tend to be more conservative
U Def white

Black people are more welcoming than any other race in the world

Black churches have always been a haven to gays

Black people weren't the ones bashing gays

White people were the 1s chasing down gay dudes, then sodomizing them
Yet supposed to hate gay activity :scust:

Black people let u live
Just don't want to hear about it

Dyke hoes been bringing they gfs to church since forever :unimpressed:

White churches are so closed minded and hate filled :unimpressed:

Yet their churches are the 1s where lil kids get raped the most:unimpressed:

Above the fray.
What does that have to do with homophobia, when Black church is the epicenter of Black male homosexuality?
one of the centers of black male closet homosexuality..the closet door is wide open and you can see it, but still closet

there's a handfull of suspected gay dudes at any given church...........majority of men in church are hetero..I guess

But they only ever call out the black community.

Everyone somehow forgets how homophobic Hispanics, Asians, and Arabs are.

This forum is proof enough. The amount of gay slurs, or the need to prove heterosexuality with every post or the need to criticize the media or society for a "gay agenda" is rife on this forum. I gotta wonder if you people are delusional or just gaslighting shyt.
