It's true that Cheney had a lot of power and was an exception everyone knows this, but virtually every other modern vice president did very little to nothing.

I don’t agree with this.

• Quayle was a moron so Clinton ran on the “buddy VP” meme and made Gore a high level advisor. Bush supposedly never even got invited to Reagan’s White House
• Bush II had the infamous ”agreement” where Cheney did all the work because he was a moron too.
• Obama promised Biden he’d “be in the room” for major decisions and even ran major projects like Iranian nukes look up why Biden hates Israel so much after the Stuxnet virus)
• Trump was too big an egomaniac to give anyone else the spotlight.
• Biden tried to make the same deal with Harris that he had, and if you remember when he first got elected Harris was always around or in the background. But once her team went off the reservation that was it.

I think the do nothing VPs will be rare in the future. They’ll all be czars of something.
