He's dropped 2 albums in 2 years. How does untitled not count. Terrible thread. And I wouldn't count on him dropping anything since untitled came out this year

I personally don't count untitled since it was a group of unused tracks. Just like Nas lost tapes I don't look at it as an album.

Although I understand what you mean especially these days where I can't tell the difference between a mixtape and album

Personally i'm cool with two years between albums. That gives time to record the best shyt, weed thru the filler and put out the best product. Ppl rush out halfass material nowadays trying to flood the market

Word word, I get that, I'm not saying it has to be an everyday thing but there's other ways. They're just completely reclusive, not pushing their Dreamville or TDE camps, not appearing at any award shows, basketball games, community events, nothing. They're kind of like rap kurt cobains. It's kinda hard to feel an artist like that because they're trying pick up where they left your interests from 2 years ago with nothing in between.

So personally for you, what do you want them to do to sustain your interests outside of music?

Im a big Kdot fan but even i can admit he fukked up with TPAB the album was good not great no real lasting appeal AND he alienated his core fanbase because he went to left field to soon. TPAB is something you do once youve already been in the game for years not for a sophmore album and honestly i think he realizes this because its going to be hard to gain mainstream appeal again without switching up his whole image/music he had a good formula with GKMC now:manny: what can he really do next?

To be honest outside of like 3-4 tracks, TPAB wasnt that out there. Im not a huge fan of it but people overdo it being some left field album.
For free, wesleys theory and u are the only experimental songs. Everything else is pretty standard hiphop or rnb sounding. There just werent radio songs or bangers on it

My thing is K is trying to be to clever with the voices and cadences. Sometimes you just spit....and not try to be all avantgarde with the delivery.

Its to the point that the better tracks on TPAB and UU were the more rnb, earth wind n free type joints

I just hope he gets back to spittin like Section 80 instead of overthinking his lines and using all those weird voices

Yeah that high pitch voice his does is either a hit or a miss

True, but Kendrick really burst on the scene with GKMC he had multiple joints getting radio play, the streets fukked with it big time he was just starting to get mainstream exposure as well as growing his mainstream fanbase then he came out with TPAB which was totally different from what people were expecting, and honestly alot of people didnt fukk with it.

Hip Hop fans of my generation are very fickle and rely to heavily on whats popping and popular. KDOT will still be good cuz of his core but as far as capturing mainstream attention thats really not going to happen unless he goes back to the GKMC formula, and atleast have 2-3 radio friendly songs i mean thats how you maintain the mainstream fickle fanbase which he AS well as TDE needs because they all (minus q) really get attention off of Kendrick.
