NBA Street (Series)

I was just thinking about all the time I spent playing NBA Street growing up and how much fun it gave me as a casual NBA fan. I find 2ks basketball games to be kinda complex and difficult to grasp and sometimes I just want to do some crazy dunks and skills without much effort.

Personally what i loved about NBA Street was how you were able to play in the street environment, create a baller, do crazy skills, play as NBA superstars/legends and even the original characters were dope with a lot personality. I'm sure you lot will agree with me when i say EA need to go back to making NBA Street (and while they're at it, bring back EA BIG.)

Def Jam (fighting series)

I reckon Icon tanked but even if it did, it doesn't make sense to me why there hasn't been a new game in the franchise. Fight for N.Y. was fantastic. Now imagine that game with better graphics, online multiplayer, a character roster of classic rappers and some of the new cats in the game, etc.

Def Jam Fight for NY was dope and redefined the Vendetta system to almost separate it's self from wrestling and be more of a street fighting game. Nothing felt more rewarding then going in and beating up your opponent to finish them with a vicious KO. I'd definitely be hyped for a Def Jam sequel (which follows Def Jam FFNY format.)

I'm all for that but it wouldn't hurt to bring back these franchises from the dead either. I'm sure if Tony hawk's pro skater 5 can come back with a title then so can these games. The NBA and Rap/hiphop are still popular til to this day.

The big companies are scared to put out the more "quirky" games i think. they sticking to traditional sports, racers, shooters and wrpgs.

That went way over my head, i just clocked lol. Still ironically with that said i wouldn't mind a HD remaster of these games because it's better than nothing at this point.

You make a good point, i don't really mind the wrpgs or racing games but there's too many shooting games imo. As for the big companies being afraid to step out of their comfort zone i agree. I felt the ps1/ps2 days were much different and offered more variety and companies took more chances compared with today.

Why do people keep saying too many shooters? Can you elaborate without mentioning yearly shooters like COD/BF or First Person games(which are just visual games with no shooting in it)?

This genre heavily dominates the video game market compared to many other genres, anyway besides COD/BF which i was actually referring to there's also

Farcry
Halo
Bioshock
Destiny
Titanfall
Wolfstein

That list doesn't include third person shooting games (because i'm lazy)

Oh &..

15 First Person Shooters to Look Forward To In 2015

I necessarily don't have a problem with fps or any shooting game for that matter but variety is much better imo, and while i enjoy playing the odd shooting game, it can feel stale seeing so many dominate the market.
