NBA and the NFL didn't like the vibe that those games showed for the association. Homecourt sold pretty well, but those companies just don't want those games anymore.

You ever heard of the NFL Blitz story where Midway had to literally hide the game from the NFL until they finished it so they wouldn't get canceled?

As for Def Jam the original devs for FFNY and the original are closed down and the lead for those games died a year or two ago.

Well if that's true it's a damn shame because both these game were really fun and gave players an alternative to the realistic basketball sim and wrestling/fighting games with a touch of black/rap/street culture and there's actually no other games like these to feel the void imo.

This is one time where I wish indies would step up and fill the gap. Take something like NBA Street. They could just make original characters for each of the teams. There could be some Nba street original inspired characters.

And in the case of Def Jam, a party fighting game with street-type characters and made up/parody rappers instead of actual ones.

So Cal
i definitely dont want to see a fighting game with these 98 pound skinny jean rappers trying to body slam people, but we do need a new NBA jam and NFL blitz
they did blitz and jam last gen and i think they flopped.

NBA Jam On Fire for 360/PS3 was pretty good, even the mobile versions were fun. New Blitz was total garbage though, nothing good about that game besides the updated rosters.
