Word. I grew up playing ball at 149. Across from 227. These south Americans took over the area tho. You can't go a block without seeing a backyard converted into a lil volleyball stadium

Free breakfast programs at 149 :blessed:

I played ball there too, but our block was famous in the area for having a court in the street....memories man :to:

my old crib don't even exist anymore, its a fukking building now housing people who probably ain't even supposed to be here in the first place. It's fukking tragic.

Same here, grew up on 95th and northern. I live in fresh meadows now. Corona/east elmhurst was so ill back in the day, a damn shame what it is now.

Still get my hair cut in corona though.

I went to 149 then 61. I grew up on 37th and 100 then moved to 51st ave. I loved living there as a kid, something always going on. shyt has definitely changed out there. Houses in Corona converted to tiny ass apartments. The house I grew up in got gutted and converted. shyt got like 20 doorbells at the front door. And yo @JAY? the Mexicans on my old block knocked down the fence that separated their yards and made a full size volleyball court, it got flood lights and everything :dead:

Lived in Jamaica for like 5 years a lil ago. Would go back but it's just too much of a commute being I work in Brooklyn.

But Queens will always have a special place in my heart:wub:

I was there before you. I was there from 96 to 2000. That's when Charlie villanueva and smush Parker was there. It was still a little bad when I started but nothing like the war zone it was in the early 90s.

@JAY? Yeah y'all older than me, I graduated from 61 in 2001, went to Florida for a year, came back to NY but to Long Island. If I stayed in Queens, I would've went to Bowne or Forest Hills.

Yeah me and charlie started the same year, our boy nathan brought me, charlie and another dude cant remember his name. I used to kick it with the ball players all the time, sticks, carl lee. Yeah that place was a war zone in the early 90's. I grew up playing in broadway and hoffman park

I was zoned for newtown, my moms didn't want me going there because she heard it was bad and all my friends were going there so she thought it would be a distraction. So she used a friends address over in jamaica and I ended up going to hillcrest....which was even worse :heh:

y'all remember the annex? that shyt didn't even have windows :merchant:
