And people don't understand that a lot of diss tracks were strategic. "Ether" coincided with Jay's birthday and was a couple of weeks ahead of Stillmatic's release. "Hit Em Up" dropped when the "Get Money" remix was hot and was basically a flip of that song. Cam dropped "Curtis" during 50's album cycle. What's funny is Curtis wasn't the original title of 50's 2007 album. As goofy as the JD vs Timbaland and Dre "battle" was, the response to JD dropped as a track on Eminem's album.

Diss tracks in the past were actually dope records too though. They weren't just disses. You could roll around and blast 'The Bridge is Over" and "South Bronx" in the car.
