My point, and the point of this entire fukking thread is the fact that stars like KG didn't want to go there...the behind the scenes shyt with owners and GMs means nothing when we all know how it turned out...but hindsight is 20/20.

Kevin Garnett said he was almost a Laker in 2007

“I was pretty close [to going to LA] to be honest,” Garnett said. “What disturbed me about the whole Laker situation was Kobe [Bryant] and Phil [Jackson] at the time. They was pretty bad. That situation was something I didn’t want to get into. It was my choice. There was a lot going on and I didn’t want to be a part of it.”

So how about you go eat a dikk and watch tv :mjlol: :camby:

It came from Adam Silver and the NBA front office forcing Lebron to leave Cleveland and go to the Western Conference because GSW/CLE is stale and they want new teams reppin the East for the NBA Finals. They also don't want their premier player stuck in CLE. You know how the NBA are about big markets

Philly bouls, Trust the Process
Your definition of gutting the team isn't exactly gutting the team.

Losing KCP, Brook Lopez and Julius Randle isn't gutting the team. They clearly made the Brook trade and KCP signing for 2018 flexibility.
And Ingram and Nance*

What kind of team do you have left? If I'm LeBron why would I join that barren team in the West?

I agree with what ere'body else has already said....this was media-induced, not "Coli Laker fans" induced.

Further....I think a team like the Lakers will always lead the speculative pack when it comes to destinations for top free agents. They're a storied franchise, no matter how bad they've been in the past couple of years, and Los Angeles as a city remains a top free agent destination. Dependent upon how well they're playing, there's justification in the assumption that they will always be a LIKELY top 3 destination for any top-tier FA. To me, if the Knicks were consistently good then you would hear them mentioned more prominently in FA rumors. :yeshrug:

Lets keep it a buck, the entire sports media construct today promulgates rumors and potential stories..."He COULD go here", "this team COULD win this many games...". nikkas is making comfortable livings as insiders, as people who follow around the team scrapping up whatever little pieces of information they can from whomever they can, like some literary pack rats.

And like someone else said, people feed into that because....well, you know...people are sheep.

other than maybe Philly where he would he go that would make sense for any reason relating to basketball?

Not even the Lakers make basketball sense for LeBron, but there's more to it than hoops if he goes there.

Lebron, George and teenagers isn't coming close to winning any titles

As far as the of the court stuff the internet has made it a small world now where you don't have to be in a specific big city

All that stuff he wants to do is in the offseason anyway. It's not like he's gonna be shooting movies during the season if he's in LA

Yeah that shyt don't even make sense. Bron has like 3 or 4 more years in the league and then he can live wherever he wants full-time. nikkas acting like he doesn't have a team, private jet, and ways to handle the business he may have in L.A.

Jesus Christ. Do some research. Ingram makes about 4 million. He wouldn't need to be traded.

Who knew Bron would go back to Cleveland a year ahead of time? Or would go to Miami? No one. Dudes sources hardly chatter. These loose strings about Hollywood arent convincing.

Best case scenario Lonzo Ball isn't going to reach his prime until a Lebron is about 37. Chances are the Brooklyn pick is going to produce a better prospect than Lonzo next year. This isn't 1985 where if you don't play in a big market you are in obscurity. There's no obscurity anymore if Russell Westbrook became a superstar in Oklahoma City. Lebron is getting into the production company business heavy, but he can be in LA at the snap of a finger at any time no matter where he is. Why would he have to be a Laker?

It's a lot of rumors and speculation from very respected insiders and analysts. He owns a house in LA, his wife wants to move there full time, his kids are supposedly in school and the AAU circuit there. He went to Lonzo Ball's summer league game and not his own team's. His business partner Maverick Carter was reportedly meeting with Lakers owner Jeanie Buss earlier this year.

And Lebron and his reps are not commenting or denying any of it.

Lakers fans aren't the ones starting this. Many Lakers fans are torn on the subject. Some fans straight up don't want him.

I remember the talk of Kevin Durant being interested in playing in LA, and lead to all kinds of fan fiction & the Stephen A report about Lakers being in the drivers seat......only for KD to meet with the Clippers.
