Its not just about how to live a good life and treat people right, That is irrelevant without knowing God. You can do all that but if you dont know and dont believe in Jesus you go to hell,

I'm agnostic, but explain this to me.
God gave the Devil just enough power to do evil things? Why?

God didn't give the Devil exclusively just enough power to do evil things, He gave the Devil the same amount of power the rest of the angels have as Lucifer himself is a fallen angel. All the angels, Lucifer included, were also given free will the same way we have free will because God is not a dictator. Lucifer rebelled against God and is using his free will and his power to do evil things but he wasn't the only one. In much the same way i could give you money today and you can use it to feed yourself and do something productive or to buy crack and destroy yourself, what you do with what is given to you is on you and im not to blame for your decisions. Other angels were convinced to rebel by him, there was also a second rebellion which was some time afterwards and didnt even involve Lucifer.

You said you dont need a book to tell you how to live a good life, and it proves you havent read the book because that isn't the main message in the book. The message of the book is what Jesus Christ done for you on the cross, and how faith in him will deliver you from the devil and from not sharing in the judgement that was meant for him and all the angels who rebelled. If your main reason for not reading it is because you dont need a book to tell you how to live then i am telling you that isnt even what the book is about. If you still then chose not to read or believe then your problem is you have no faith or belief and not that you dont need it but that is fine its your choice. Whoever has ears let him hear.

The point is, NONE of this shyt has to happen. If god is all powerful then he could destroy the devil with a snap of his fingers and right all the wrongs with mankind with another snap.
