Yet from my perspective God is near from the day we are born to the day we pass, so its not that God isnt around or is non-existing, people choose not to see him or his constant action in the world

Thats the beauty of free will though and our God. If God chose to make his will at the expense of your free will you would understand the problem with that really quick (youd be no different than a robot). As far as sensing behaviors or actions of something(one) higher than you, does an ant recognize the behaviors and patterns of humans? consider the relationship of "higher and lower" beings...what is high and low other than your own interpretation of your stature in the world (which is fleeting).
