its funny that some of the biggest believers in "god" over the years through Christianity had it forced on them. black people being one of them, shyt was forced through slavery but yet its something so vital and dear to the community ? gtfoh
religion is really there for people who feel lost so they need a guide and they believe oh i dont have to do shyt, its gods will anyway, whatever god wants to happen will happen. or people afraid of dying so they need to make believe there is an afterlife. the whole thing is a coping mechanism. its just a really really popular cult so you dont see it as a cult but watch any movie when you see a cult and then go to church and tell me its not the exact same behavior.
also people saying "oh it held us together in bad times" no, it made you docile and not challenge white supremacy because it would all just be taken care of "on judgement day"
