should be a mandatory listen, he's 100% right
i tell people all the time i love hip-hop but it's a guilty pleasure. honestly you can't defend most of the shyt in mainstream hip-hop without stooping to "this is what i like, fukk you if you don't agree"...it's all a really nonsensical genre
but let's see the ad hominem put down people come up with in this thread
I have to agree with this...I have a professional career (physiotherapist), and 3 times of the week, I meet with doctors, nurses, social workers, and etc...All professionals...
And sometimes, I just get this thought, "here I am sitting with academics, making big decisions that will affect the patients' lives, and after this I will get in my car and listen to some Chief Keef"...
Shiit makes NO SENSE...
I could NEVER tell my co-workers that I listen to Chief Keef...My reputation will fly out the window...
It's HARD to intellectually justify the content in hip hop music...The majority of hip hop is CHILDISH mentality music...Even the so called "lyricists" are really childish...
But I love hip hop...It is a part of my being...I could never give it...
However, the beatmakers are getting better by the years, and I think that's a part of the reason why the rappers are slipping, the beats are so good, you don't even need to make an attempt to sound intelligent...
