Which albums took the biggest leap on 2nd listen?

Hell Hath No Fury....didn't understand how mature it was at first and slept for a while

Wu-Tang Forever....I was too young when it dropped to understand all the knowledge. I expected another 36 Chambers where flow and raw beats were the focus, but they got so lyrical and deep on Forever that it really did take me til like 2000 to understand so much of the information they provided

Watch the Throne....definitely had no idea what to think at first, slowly realized it was genius, then got sick of it and moved on

illmatic...when I first heard it I didn't listen to lyrics and wasn't into that type of production. Listened to it once and traded it away for an MC Ren album. Now its one of my favorite albums.

I only really liked Car Service on first listen but gave it another spin and didn't take it out the deck for about 2 weeks

I'm only gonna speak on shyt since I've been grown, cause there's been hella albums that I listened to obviously when I was like 12-16 that I didn't understand or appreciate as much as I do now.

Nas - N1gger - I didn't like the album at first, I thought it was far too dark. Distant Relatives is how I though it would sound like when I got it (I realize DR was after, but you know what I mean). But I truly appreciate it now, he knew what he was doing. I liked the singles (not Hero) so that's why I purchased it (that and the fact I've got every Nas album).

Eminem - Relapse - I didn't like it at all initially, I expected a homecoming album with explanations. After a few weeks, after reading an online review, I understood it was Eminem's most conceptual and well thought album ever, he just made it so hard to interpret. Not near his best, but his most thought out. I listen with awe at times now. 3 songs don't belong though - Crack a Bottle, We Made You and Beautiful (good song though).

Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock - I purchased this album simply because of the name of the artist. I hated it at first, it sounded all over the place. After some time, I saw it for what it was, a protest release the only way a Rasta can, a crafty witty protest album filled with meaning different to hip hop albums with similar themees.

Lupe Fiasco - Food and Liquor - To me initially it came off as an album where Lupe thought he was better the genre. Pretentious as such. Then after a few listens, or a lot of listens, I realized it wasn't pretentious, it was just a real honest rapper. Realized he was a very clever rapper.

Relapse is the ONLY Eminem album i loved right off the bat. All the stars aligned perfectly for me to really enjoy a back to basics Em album when that dropped.

He really showed his ass vocally on there.

Maybe reasonable doubt for me, d'evils went past my head on the first listen the beat got to me than on 2nd listen
